Electrical single-line diagrams are walked down and reconciled against the physical switchgear. Load census done from CMMS + walkdown, not just design data. Sources · utility, generators, UPS, batteries · characterised with vendor curves.

The plant electrical engineer does not carry that discipline alone · VB PowerPulse carries it under the retainer.

The 5-year full re-study takes the accumulated MoC deltas and rebases the model, re-runs the 10 studies, re-issues every setting file, and re-signs the report. Year 5 is a signature, not a rebuild · because the annual cadence held.

CASE 01 · REFINING

Landmark East Coast refinery · 220 kV to 415 V · 340 relays under VB PowerPulse retainer.

Baseline in Year 1 exposed 42 mis-coordinated pairs across the protection scheme. All 340 numerical relays received new setting files, primary injection tested. Year 3 mid-cycle refresh caught a UPS refresh that would have moved a critical 11 kV feeder outside its coordination margin. Corrected before energisation.
