What's the difference between GA and plot plan?
Plot plan is the top view at site scale (1:500 to 1:2000) showing the whole plant. GA is the working drawing set · plot plan + equipment layout + sectional views + elevation + key plan.
Do you include underground utilities?
Above-ground LiDAR scan doesn't capture buried utilities. We can integrate ground-penetrating radar (GPR) survey for buried services as a separate scope, then overlay on the GA.
Can you do this for parts of the plant only?
Yes · we routinely do unit-by-unit. New project, retrofit unit, expansion plot · whatever needs GA-current is in scope, the rest can wait.
How does GA relate to plot plan compliance (NFPA 30, API 752)?
Critical. NFPA 30 sets minimum distances between tanks, between equipment and property line, between flammables and ignition sources. API 752 dictates building separation. Updated GA lets you audit compliance immediately.
Does the digital twin need GA, or just point cloud?
Both. Point cloud is the geometric foundation. GA is the engineering interpretation · scaled, labelled, sectioned. Both layers in Wistwin · point cloud for visualisation, GA for engineering reference.
